Feedback on the first mini-conference in April 2008
The feedback from people attending, presenting or chairing, at the first mini-conference, was overwhelmingly positive.
13 out of 20 eligible people completed forms. In answer to 'Overall, how useful did you find today?', given a scale of 1-5 to choose from, the mean response was 4.85. The majority of people thought another mini-conference in 4-6 months would be best, with no one suggesting it shouldn't be repeated. All responders thought that having both oral and poster presentations was useful.
In the free-text section, most comments were compliments. Suggestions included inviting trainees from other Deaneries; and that people presenting posters could have spoken briefly about them (presumably in timed slots rather than the general, unstructured poster sessions given).
Other comments included:
'Excellent. Let's do it again' / 'Many thanks - great day' / 'Excellent breadth' / 'Really enjoyed - very good' / 'Good idea! Must keep this going!' / 'Good arena for sharing projects... in a constructive setting'

Thanks to Rachel Dalby, Mark Ladbrooke and Dr Premila Webster for their help in organising the day; and to Karthik who came up with the original idea. Thank you too to Claire Cheong-Leen and Mike Rayner for chairing the oral presentation sessions.
